Inspiring TED talk by Bryan Stevenson
Today I decided to finally check out Windows Phone development after reading an encouraging post on Scott Hanselman’s blog.
Steps are:
1. Download the SDK
2. Create an account at http://create.msdn.com
The sign up process for the publishers account is broken (tried multiple times on Chrome and IE).
That’s just depressing.
Carlin’s Modern Man. Yeah…genius.
Teddy Bear
Another effective technique is to explain your code to someone else. This will often cause you to explain the bug to yourself.
Sometimes it takes no more than a few sentences, followed by an embarrassed “Never mind, I see what’s wrong. Sorry to bother you.”
This works remarkably well; you can even use non-programmers as listeners. One university computer center kept a teddy bear near the help desk. Students with mysterious bugs were required to explain them to the bear before they could speak to a human counselor.
~Brian Kernighan and Rob Pike, about debugging
Brilliant.
Socialnomics - Erik Qualman. Love the motion graphic.
I’ve been reading about and playing with Bitcoin for the past week. Extremely cool.
Here is a QR code that contains my BitCoin token:

Also just bought 1 bitcoin, just in case it’s worth a couple thousands in 2 years :)
